Michael Phelps has lived a good life, and has been motivated by his various positions, by advice from his eldest brother Jack; "Find what you love doing and you will never work another day in your life." Michael Phelps served as a Senior Security Policeman-Combat Defense Forces in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. Returning to his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana in 1963, he worked in law enforcement, and then in hotel security for a major hotel chain. He transferred to Los Angeles, CA where he met actor David Janssen and his wifeEllie. After one year in Los Angeles, he relocated to New York City and lived in Manhattan for 15+ years. There he was engaged in Executive Recruiting. To escape the harsh winters of New York,he relocated to Miami, Florida and was engaged as the Executive Assistant and later became Individual Co-Trustee of a private multi-millions dollars trust for Count Tassilo Szechenyi (an Hugarian nobelman). After the Count's death in 1988, he was engaged as Chief Investigator for a prominent Miami Law firm, specializing in criminal defense. While working with the law firm, he had a chance encounter at The Jockey Club with Ellie Janssen. He convinced her to write her memoir of her mariage to, eternal love for and sadly, bitter divorce from David Janssen. As it turned out, Mr. Phelps became her Co-author of "DAVID JANSSEN-MY FUGITIVE". The book was released in hardcover in December of 1994, with Paperback Editions following in 1995, 1996 and 1997. The book sold in excess of 1.2 million copies. Upon early retirement from the law firm, Mr. Phelps embarked on the challenge of becoming an AQuthor. He chose to write about things he knew; police procedurals, detective novels, court room drama, based on actual cases he had worked. His debut novel published in January of 2009, "THE EXECUTION OF JUSTICE" is based on the murder of a close friend and one-time mentor, Detective Sergeant Jack R. Ohrberg, Roober & Homicide Unit of the Indianapolis Police Department. In this novel, Mr. Phelps describes the presonal and professional lives of the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting their communities. In "THE EXECUTION OF JUSTICE", he cretaed the "Mike Walsh Detective Novels" series. In 2010, he released the second in the series, "THE JOCKEY'S JUSTICE" which is based on a high-profile murder case he investigated for the law firm. Having been urged and inspired over the years (since the publication of Ellie's memoir) by several friends and many fans of David Janssen, Mr. Phelps made a long journey into the past and in October of 2014 released "DAVID JANSSEN-Our Conversations: Volume One-The Early Years (1965-1972) and Volume Two-The Final Years (1973-1980). In these Memoirs, Mr. Phelps relates hundreds of private conversations between he and David Janssen over the last fifteen years of David's life. All of Mt.
