BookGrabbr is a social media-marketing tool that allows authors to share both full books and previews of their books with readers. Readers can have access to these books by signing in through Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn and using their ability to share as a form of currency. The “Share” is the payment! Share the book, and it will allow you to read it. Just click the “Grabb this book” button next to the book and our system will prompt you to share in exchange for reading!
A “Grabb” just means grab. Readers “grabb” books. It is misspelled on purpose. It helps us identify the action as a unique action. Since BookGrabbr allows readers to read for free in exchange for a share and the share is the currency, that makes the book, well, “kind” of free. Since it is a new concept we wanted to identify the action of exchanging a “read” for a “share” something that people would understand. The word “Grabb” does exactly that.
Nothing! We call readers “grabbrs”. If you love to read books and grabb them from BookGrabbr, you’re a “Grabbr”!
You don’t have to pay any money. The only cost for the grabbr (reader) is to share. That’s the transaction. The reader “pays” by sharing to their friends. It’s a win-win really! Authors get some marketing/promotion in lieu of the reader enjoying their book for free!
Authors and Publishers are sharing more content on our site as a rule than other sites and as such need to know that the book isn’t made available for distribution outside of our site/app.
Since our site is built on the currency of a “share” being a form of payment, if a reader doesn’t have a social media account, they cannot grab a book. Authors are giving content in exchange for an increase in brand awareness and this facilitates that.
BookGrabbr pushes content out. Most sites invite users to them to search for something they are familiar with. Although our site allows for that and encourages that, the majority of our users and readers come directly from social media to read a book that they were recommended from a friend. Authors, publishers, and reader all share books, which results in their friends and their friends’ friends coming to our site and reading. Readers come to read what they were invited to read as opposed to other sites that are available for readers to come and search on their own for books.
Readers sign in through whatever social site they prefer to share through and grab content to read in exchange for sharing that content to their social news feeds.
You get a digital copy of the book (or an epub, as it’s called in the publishing world) that you can read within our E-reader. The e-book stays in your library as long as you want within our system! Once you delete it it’s gone, but if you want to grabb several books and read them and enjoy them over time, you can! There is no expiration on the books.
At this point BookGrabbr only allows readers to read within BookGrabbr either on our site directly or within our free app. However- There is a “buy” button at the top of the E-reader which will allow you to order the physical copy if you’ve enjoyed the book that you’ve “Grabb’d”.
There really isn’t a catch. It’s pretty simple, really. Most authors are always looking to increase brand awareness and there are readers out there who are looking to discover the next best thing but sometimes don’t want to pay or can’t afford to buy every book they want to read. So we created a solution! A reader can enjoy a book from a new author or maybe one of their current favorite authors by simply sharing to their social media platform. Then, their friends can enjoy the same book that they’ve seen you share as soon as they’ve shared that book with their friends. We’ve harnessed the power of social recommendations for books!
When a reader “Grabbs” a book on their laptop or desktop, the book is made available instantly to the reader to read within our site. The cover photo will show up with bold arrows on either side of the screen for readers to “click” to turn the pages.
When a reader “Grabbs” a book on their mobile device, they will be given the option to download our free app or read where they are. If they choose to read where they are, then the book is made available to them within whatever browser they are in. They will see bold arrows on either side of the screen and they can click those arrows to turn the pages.
